DFW Hubspot Users Group turns 1.

Back in late ’09 I was talking with some clients and they were really excited about starting a Hubspot Users Group. After talking to Hubspot, they were excited as well.

Then I had to figure out how to build a group in the Dallas & Fort Worth area and have regular monthly meetings. I think we had a lunch meeting a few times, but really didn’t kick off the group until January 2010. We had a meeting in Arlington. Sadly we lost a few of these early members, but I am happy to say we have pushed on and have continued to meet every month since.

Early on we had our meetings face-to-face at the Brandwise office in West Fort Worth. Most of these meetings were in the morning around 7:30 (a tough drive for some coming from Addison – thanks Chuck your a real trooper). Then after several meetings we decided to change the group to webinar or virtual meetings late in 2010. These virtual meetings allowed us to open the group up to people that were pretty far to make the morning group meeting (Jody thanks for your patients).

This also allowed us to open the group up to some of Brandwise’s customers who are all over the country. We are now trying both virtual and in person meetings (maybe quarterly in person meetings) to mix up the interaction and engagement of the group.

Last week we had an in person meeting and got to meet the local crew that have all been able to make it out (thanks Tina, Chuck, Kelly, Jody and Buzz for coming out). This was a great start as we push into year two.

I’d also like to thank Chuck Jones of Synergy Broadcast for attending every meeting from the inception of this group and also for shooting and having Lindsay Jones do the video editing for this video about the group!
