Branding faux pas – stealing photography to build your brand!

stolen photos kill brands

No images were stolen to create this article: Brandwise owns the rights to the image in the header of this article. This is an example of what a stolen image looks like, notice the “X” going from corner to corner and the “shutterstock” logo as a watermark in the center of the image. Typically this means this is an unpurchased image and the user does not own the right to use it.

Business ignorance or a flat out lie & damaging the brand

wendys brand hot or not

So today I grabbed some lunch at Wendy’s. Typically this is a good experience and the local Wendy’s is really good. Today’s experience however left me frustrated. Is Smarketing the next Moneyball?

So I just watched Moneyball and I couldn’t help thinking of how this is very similar to the advertising industry. There are a lot of old school agencies that are not getting on board with inbound marketing, they are telling people this new social media thing is just a fad. In the same breath they will start sharing the number of readers of the magazine or newspaper they are trying to get you to place your ads in. This might work with large budgets, but small businesses do not have the budget to play in this field.
