What is a blog? How does it work and why should I care?

The other day we added a blog post on what is RSS. As I was thinking about this, I thought it might be wise to share an article/video on what is a blog. If you are a business looking to market your company and looking for ways to do it in a cost effective manner, blogs are the way to go.

Blogs are however time consuming. To get the best results from a blog we recommend that you post a minimum of 1 to 2 articles every week. As you can see, this could be a full-time job. It is worth every minute though because a blog allows you to build a following and become a thought leader in your industry.

The goal should be to develop remarkable content on an ongoing basis. This will make it interesting for readers. Something to think about also is what will you talk about. The key is to talk about things your visitors will find useful. When working with clients we try to set up an editorial calendar with educational topics. If you figure out what are the questions clients or prospects always ask us, these would be great articles. Publish these and the next time some one asks you about it, just point them to the blog article.

Blogs also greatly help search engine optimization and search engine ranking. I'll leave those topics for another article, but right now watch the video to learn more about blogs.
