For years I have been working on solutions that provide the best solutions for my customers. The last 6 to 8 years I've been looking for the best ROI marketing tools that are highly trackable. The goal was to be able to offer the client a tried and true solution with proof that what we were doing was working. This is why I got excited when I got into inbound marketing.
Over the last 4 or 5 years I have honed my skills and found powerful tools to do just this. I did however not have a really solid mobile tool that tied in with all I do for my clients. So if I was traveling or away from the office, it was not easy to get accurate data on what is happening on a client's site. That is until now.
I've been recommending to Hubspot to create a mobile iPhone app that showed all the data we used to track the client's and our success. Now with Hubspot 3, hubspot rolled out an app tied with this new upgrade. Yesterday I was in a meeting with a client and before the meeting they started asking about the data on the site. I was unprepared, but pulled up the data on the Hubspot app and guess what? You would have thought I was fully prepared for the meeting with this data. We could review organic traffic increase, month to month increases in traffic and leads. Not only that, we could scroll through the leads and see actual data on each lead to learn how active they are on the site and a quick easy click to give them a call or shoot them an email.
The one thing I do not like about the data is the actual Sources data. This shows the traffic to the site and where it came from. Which is great! What it doesn't show however is a break down of the actual numbers for each. There is a sidebar that give you rough numbers, but unlike the desktop version, it does not give you data to dig a little deeper or to be more accurate.
Overall though, this is a really great tool. I do notice though that my app doesn't have all the tools promoted on the Apple site. Not sure if these are tools that will be coming later or what. Love to see the website grader tool added to this app as well as the lead timeline tool.
As with the client story above, I'm betting it will make life much easier when you need to do a quick once over with a client. Heck, this might even be part of an in person sales meeting (only after you define the clients needs, compelling reasons and budget).
For example let's say I am talking to music venue owner. On the side I have a music website that offers an online marketing tool for venues. Once I know they have a compelling reason to advertise and promote themselves, I could break out my phone and show them the mobile directory listings we have as one of the tools. Next I could break out the hubspot tool to show realistic traffic to the site to allow them to see the reach they could be getting for their specific target market (music lovers). Wow! That might put them over the top because it isn't made up data, it is for real right now data.
