 Twitter tips:

  1. Set up a profile under your company name
  2. Start following interesting people (Twitter will recommend people or you can search for them)
  3. Do a search for keywords in your industry and clients industries and start following some of these people
  4. Post interesting content, not the last time you went to the bathroom. If it is not interesting, people will stop following you.
  5. Retweet other peoples interesting content (tweets). Use the retweet tag - example: (RT @Brandwise blah, blah…)
  6. As people start following you, thank them for following you (via: direct messaging in Twitter) and then follow them back if they are interesting
  7. Don’t forget to add links to your web site / blog articles so that you drive traffic to your site
  8. Get a copy of our Branded Twitter eBook for more detail on step by step set up and advice on how to brand your twitter account.

After you have several social networking profiles up, don’t forget you need to promote them through your email and web site, maybe even your business card, letterhead etc. Also the name of the game is social (start getting social) networking (become active and get networking with clients, friends, prospects and vendors). You need to be doing these things on a regular basis for it to work. Try updating things weekly.
