Viral Marketing - Spread the Word! - image

Viral marketing is one of those things you catch like the flu. You find something of interest about a company or person, you find it funny or informative and you just got to spread it like the H1N1 virus.

I found an interesting thing this morning on YouTube's community. Basically Wonderful Pistachios put out a competition for the best video showing how customers Get Crackin' with their Wonderful Pistachios, pistachios.

This is the winning video. It is done pretty well, good job DeStorm Power. Watch this video get a better understanding of viral marketing and pass on this viral marketing article on to your friends to participate in a viral marketing campaign.

Keep in mind although this is a great idea here is where Wonderful Pistachios dropped the ball on the viral marketing. In order for this video to be shared we needed to go to DeStorms YouTube account. We could not easily embed the video from the Wonderful Pistachios Channel.

The key to viral marketing is you need to make it as easy as possible for your viewers to spread the word.

Any hiccups and people will not take the time to figure out how to pass it on. The only exception to this rule would be if the content was so remarkable that you just had to share it at all costs and you will do anything to pass it on. This is the goal of viral marketing, but most campaigns fall short of this and will have a better success rate if passing the info on is very easy.

We hope you catch the bug soon!

Thanks for posting Clinton. So do you work for the agency that developed this program or Wonderful Pistachios? I checked out the site as well and there is some great info on the site and it is very fun. Good job!
